Too early to tell if anyone won the Mega Millions jackpot for Jan. 9, but the numbers drawn were 23,25,30,45,50 and the Mega ball was 8.

Check in later to get results at all levels of play.

The jackpot was $16 million.

One lucky ticketholder won 57 million Euros (about $73 million, U.S.) and I don’t have the countries yet.

Here is the rundown of lower tier winners (I don’t go down to the lowest level):

The winning numbers were 7,15,22,28,48 and the two lucky stars were 1 and 4.

13 tickets matched the first five numbers and one lucky star. Those tickets are worth 298,391 Euros.

14 tickets matched the first five numbers only and those tickets are each worth 78,630 Euros.

160 tickets matched four of the first five numbers plus both lucky star numbers. Those tickets are each worth 4,914 Euros.

2,398 tickets matched four of the first five numbers plus one lucky star number. Those tickets are each worth 219 Euros.

and 3,972 tickets matched four of the first five numbers only, and each of those tickets is worth 92 Euros.

Congratulations to all of you winners.

Later tonight (I write this after midnight, U.S. eastern time), is the Powerball jackpot draw for $120 million, the highest jackpot currently in play throughout the world.

I’ll have some thoughts on strategies for that game, this afternoon. So check in on www.lotterymoments.com every once in a while today.
