Three tickets matched the winning Mega Millions numbers on May 1.

The winning numbers are 9,16,24,40,43 and the Mega ball is 35. The winning tickets were bought in California, Ohio and Virginia.

The winners will equally divide the $225 million.

21 tickets matched 5 of 5, but missed the Mega ball 35. Those tickets (except in California) are each worth $250,000. They were bought in Illinois (4 tickets), Maryland, New Jersey (3), New York (9) and Texas (2). California had 2 tickets match 5 of 5…and those two tickets are each worth $284,354.

The Euro Millions game now offers the top jackpot in the world, at 125 million (estimated) euros in the May 8 game. That comes to about $165.9 million, U.S. dollars.

In the May 1 game, no one hit the five numbers and both lucky stars (3,5). 16 tickets matched 5 of 5 and 1 of 2 stars. Those tickets are each worth 314,081 euros, or about $416,940 U.S. each.

26 tickets matched 5 of 5 and no lucky stars. Those tickets are each worth 54,580 euros, or $72,454, U.S.

Euro Millions is played in the U.K., France, Spain, Belgium, Ireland, Austria, Luxembourg, Portugal and Switzerland.

The May 2 Powerball game offers up the second largest jackpot in the world, currently. It is worth $77 million.
