Rick Ferraro of Plymouth, Minnesota, says he enjoys playing for the bigger jackpots.
Bet he enjoys it even more now that he’s won one.
When he noticed that the Mega Millions jackpot was worth a whopping $266 million for the May 4 drawing, he knew he couldn’t pass up the opportunity to purchase some tickets.
He ended up buying three $5 quick-pick tickets at three different Lottery retailers, hoping to get the lucky one.
While he didn’t hit the jackpot, Ferraro certainly isn’t complaining. The fourth line of the first $5 ticket he purchased matched the first five numbers drawn (9-21-31-36-43 and the Megaball was 8) on May 4 to win $250,000!
It’s always something I’ve dreamt about, but never actually thought would happen, Ferraro said when he claimed the prize at the Lottery’s headquarters in Roseville, Minnesota on May 5.
