Oh My, Ohio; Winning $260 Million Powerball Ticket Bought in Buckeye State

First, congratulations to the winner.

I hit the Powerball, by the way…but no other numbers (and I ALWAYS Power Play).

Well, so Ohio has a $261.6 million Powerball winner less than two months after the state joined the multi-state lottery game. Nice.

The ticket was sold at a store in Sunbury, about 20 miles north of Columbus in central Ohio. Maybe it was a student at OSU. That would be very cool.

The drawing’s winning numbers were 4, 9, 14, 39, and 43.  The Powerball number was 38, and the Power Play multiplier was 4.

In addition to the Ohio jackpot winner, 13 lucky players amatched the first 5 numbers for a $200,000 prize:  4 from Florida (1 with Power Play), 1 from Illinois, 1 from Iowa, 1 from Kentucky, 1 from Massachusetts, 1 from North Carolina (with Power Play), 1 from South Carolina (with Power Play), 2 from Tennessee, and 1 from Texas.

The three second-prize winners from Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina who purchased the Power Play option will each receive a $1 million prize.

The June 5 Powerball jackpot reverts to a not so bad $20,000,000.
