Hey…I play in a pool as well as individually.
Increases my odds of winning something.
For those of you who are wary of pools…check this out (well…check out my book too, which has lots of stories about pool winners):
Factory workers in Detroit and Kalamazoo are winners of multimillion-dollar lottery prizes… Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots.
Very cool. I am ALWAYS happy to see people win and change their lives for the better.
14 workers ” called the “Lucky 13 Plus One” lottery club ” at the Chrysler plant in Detroit that makes the Dodge Viper will share in last week’s $96.6 million Powerball pot, while five workers at a Kalamazoo factory will share $36 million in the Mega Millions drawing.
Ain’t that awesome?
“Bells and whistles went off,” said William Shanteau, when he took the winning ticket to Shirley’s Carryout in Curtice, Ohio, to verify the winning numbers. Shanteau told Ohio lottery officials he had a dream the night before the drawing about winning the big Powerball prize.
The winners all work in the Chrysler Jefferson North Assembly paint shop, are from the Detroit area.
Each will get a lump-sum payment of $1.2 million. The jackpot had two winning tickets, with the other one sold in Montana.
The Powerball win is Ohio’s second since joining the game April 16.
“We’re still in shock,” said group spokesman Bernard Thelen, 51, of Portage. He represents the 5 Kalamazoo factory workers who won $36 million. “We’re planning on paying off our debts and getting into a good financial spot.”
The winners are part of the RRRLB Lottery Club and will split $23.3 million after state and federal taxes.
The group played the lottery together for about three years before landing their big win, according to Thelen.
The largest win for the group previously had been $150.
So when are YOU gonna jump in your company pool?
