Another cool winner story caught my attention recently.
Carl Moyer of Leesburg, Virginia, learned he had won $250,000 by watching the news.
After the June 29 Mega Millions drawing, there were news reports about a ticket in Leesburg that matched the first five numbers to win the game’s second prize. It didn’t take him long to find out he had that ticket!
It was an eye-opener, he said.
I thought, “This can’t be right.’
It was. And he had just won $250,000.
The winning numbers for the June 29 drawing were 3-4-15-27-37 and the Mega Ball number was 35.
The ticket was the only one in Virginia to win $250,000 in that drawing, and one of just five nationwide.
Moyer, who is retired, said he had no immediate plans for the winnings.
