I worked in the DC area (for the lotteries) for a number of years, so I know how common it is for people who live just outside the district, in Maryland OR Virginia, crossover to play DC Lottery games.

So all I can say is…viva Alice Terrell, who played a DC Lottery game called DC-5 and won $50,000.

That should make for a great Christmas.

Terrell says she played her grandson’s birthday as he is dear to her heart.

When asked her first reaction having learned that she’d won:

Great. Now, what are the taxes? she laughed.

The 71-year old says she doesn’t have any immediate plans for her big win. I got see how much first!
