When James Rose of Hopewell, Virginia, won $100,000 in the Virginia Lottery’s Casino Cash game, it wasn’t the biggest prize he’d ever received.

That came two years ago, when he became a heart transplant recipient. But it was close!

The retired police officer bought his winning ticket at the 7-Eleven ain Hopewell.

I saw it was a new game, he told Lottery officials as he claimed his prize. It caught my eye.

When he scratched the ticket and saw that it was a $100,000 winner, he showed it to the store manager.

I think she was shaking more than me! he said.
