What’s the “Secret”? State of Washington Winner Attributes $200,000 Win to His Positive Attitude

Nathan Rowley is a very smart man for his young age.

The 22-year-old Tacoma, Washington, resident may have already learned what takes some people a lifetime.

It never hurts to think positively. While many Lottery players have their own personal strategy for winning, Nathan had no idea that when he started reading, The Secret, “ a book showcased on the Oprah Winfrey show that hails the power of positive thinking “ It would lead to a $200,000 Powerball win!

But, he says, it did. This was only the fifth time I’d ever played the Lottery, Nathan recalled. I made a point to have an amazing attitude all week. I visualized winning all week.

When I saw the numbers match I wasn’t that surprised. Nathan is a sub-contractor for his father’s business and works all over western Washington.

It was completely random that I bought the ticket at Jackson’s on Mercer Island on Thursday, he explained. I had never even been there before.

Nathan has some fun plans for his winnings. I plan to buy two cars “ one new car, either an Audi or a Subaru, and the other an old muscle car so I can repair it and fix it up, he said. He also plans to take his girlfriend to a nice dinner, help fund his father’s business, and get out of debt.

The rest will go to his savings. I absolutely attribute the win to a positive attitude and positive thinking, Nathan added. As my mom says, “there is no luck!’
