Not to dwell on Georgia…and the Georgia Lottery, although I went to college there and lived there for a while… so I love the Peach State… but hell, there was a great grannie winner this week and I had to tell you all about it.
A great-grandmother from Tunnel Hill, Georgia was shocked to win $1 million on her last stop before coming home.
Edna Palmer, 74, played the Georgia Lottery instant game Georgia Lottery Black, winning the game’s top prize.
I just went in the store and bought a ticket, and as I went out the door I scratched it, she said. It was a shock.
Palmer, who has one great-grandchild, took the ticket to her husband, Welden.
I let my husband see, she said. We’re very grateful.
Aside from their great-grandchild, Palmer has two adult children and six grandchildren.
She anticipates paying off bills. Oh, I’m so proud of it, she said. I won’t have to worry the rest of my life about paying bills.
No, I guess you won’t.
