Austin Linder of Moorhead, MInnesota, carried a Powerball ticket worth $200,000 in his wallet for almost a month before he knew what it was worth.
Once I knew, I started thinking of all the things that had happened. I’d been so careless.
“I’m just glad I got the ticket here! he said as he claimed the prize at the Lottery’s headquarters in Roseville, Minnesota on Oct. 17. When Linder finally did check the ticket that he had purchased for the Sept. 17 drawing, he started with the Powerball number, which didn’t match the one on his ticket.
Then he saw that the other five numbers were a match. I was screaming, he said. Wouldn’t you? I know I would scream. For joy.
