Late last winter, Fabian Mazuera of Ridgefield, Connecticut picked six numbers and began playing them regularly in the CT Lottery’s Classic Lotto game.

As Mazuera watched the Lotto jackpot climb week after week”eventually to $9,700,000”he remained hopeful that he might be a winner.

Nine days ago I started a new job, said Mazuera, a gourmet chef, but, it’s been really tough making ends meet.

Shortly after the Tuesday night October 18, 2011 drawing was held, Mazuera logged onto the CT Lottery website (ctlottery.org) to check the winning numbers.

I saw my first two numbers were a match, and then I saw the rest of my numbersand nearly fell out of my chair! I was stunned, Mazuera said.

The six numbers on Mazuera’s ticket were a perfect match with the Classic Lotto numbers drawn on that date, which were 6 – 10 – 27 – 29 – 32 – 38.

Mazuera selected the jackpot’s one-time cash Lump-sum value of $6,523,790 (before taxes).

The net prize was $4,455,749. I just want to enjoy life. I’m going to retire, and help out my mother and my family. But first, Mazuera quipped, we’re going to Disney World.

Awesome story, chef.
