So many winners I run into play a lot.

Confession: I do too.

But I also know that it only takes one time to win. And that’s exactly what happened to Cynthia White, of Virginia. She said she plays the lottery just once a year “ when she buys some Virginia Lottery tickets as stocking stuffers for her family and herself.

But once was all it took!

The Norfolk woman scratched a Jingle Bens ticket that she put in her own stocking and won the top prize of $100,000.

Oh, did I really just win that? she later recalled thinking.

She was the last in her family to scratch the stocking-stuffer tickets.

The winning ticket was bought in Norfolk.

White, who works as an office manager, said the winnings will come in handy, with her youngest son having just started college.

You betcha.

Gives us all hope, right?
