Donald McCall of Truxton, Cortland County, New York, can now add Lottery Millionaire to his already impressive resumé. The 74-year-old self-proclaimed Renaissance man recently claimed the first of four $1,000,000 top prizes available on the Extra Play scratch-off game.
The new $5 ticket offers a bonus play area on the back, making it the first of its kind to be sold in New York.
McCall said his new millionaire status is just the latest in a long series of career reboots.
I’ve been a lot of things over a lot of years, he said. In addition to his current duties as the Town of Truxton’s official Historian, McCall said he’s enjoying his latest incarnation as a gentleman farmer. Some of McCall’s other former job titles include chef, garage door company foreman, and nurse.
Whatever the job, I’ve always told my kids that you get what you work for, but winning the Lottery kinda disproves my theory a bit, he laughed. The new Lottery millionaire said his favorite job continues to be that of father to his six children, grandfather to his 16 grandchildren and great-grandfather to six.
