Tina Puffenberger, of Whitacre, Va., was sitting in the passenger seat when she discovered she’d won a million dollars.
It happened as her husband drove and she sat scratching a Millions to the Max scratcher. Tina suddenly said, “You’re not going to believe this, we just won $1 million!â€
We couldn’t believe it, she said as she claimed her prize. We haven’t slept.
That disbelief was sharedby family members when she called them with the news.
She had the choice of taking the full $1 million prize over 30 years or a one-time cash option of $766,500 before taxes. She chose the cash option.
Ms. Puffenberger, who works making retail displays at Lowe’s, said she intends to invest her winnings and also pay bills. She also said she’ll continue to play.
